We are customizing the edx platform. As suggested we have gone through the dev setting and running it. How to run the same using “tutor local start” with our own path of edx-platform. kindly suggest.
As per my knowledge “tutor local start” will run the open edx platform in production configuration.
This information is available in the Tutor documentation. I suggest you read through it all, as it contains a lot of information that I think you will find useful:
I tried building using Running a fork of edx-platform but right now the error I am facing in my production server is that .manage.py file access is not there.
We want a debugging environment for openedx and hence we are following the second link. i.e., get the edx-platform repo to the local machine and then try to mount this onto to the lms docker container. Are we on the right track or should we go with the first link (fork one)?
Yes, you are on the right track. Once you have gotten to a point where you are satisfied with the changes in your edx-platform repo, you can push the changes to a public repo and build the openedx docker image pointing to your fork.
