The latest version of the Open edX devstack includes Docker images for the Analytics stack including the insights and analyticsapi repos.
I am currently testing whether it will be possible to create an insights plugin using the set up from the devstack to have a barebones and free analytics solution for Tutor separate from Cairn.
I have managed to collect together some of the configuration files and placed them in this repository if anyone is interested. Most of the configuration is still missing but the Analytics containers do start.
